Hans started out as a DJ assistant for the Morning Show and then had the pleasure to help out Cheryl and Kevin for a bit as well. He began filling in for overnight shows in 2010, eventually getting a regular slot Monday nights. While he misses getting hugs from Riz on a weekly basis, he is totally jazzed to bring the world great music every Wednesday night.
Hans grew up in Minnesota where he was raised on amazing radio stations like KJ 104, REV 105 and Radio K. He got his start in radio in 1994 at a different 90.3 (WBCR) in Beloit, WI, where he served as DJ, Music Director, and Station Manager. He has spent the last fifteen years working in a couple of great record stores and is currently a Manager at Everyday Music in Capitol Hill. He is honored to connect people with great music there and on KEXP as well. He obsessively collects "physical media," loves every music of every kind and you might catch him filling in for the Roadhouse, Swingin' Doors or Preachin' the Blues from time to time.
His top rock 'n' roll moment was being invited to dance on stage with Belle and Sebastian one Halloween while he and the love of his life were dressed as a Catastrophe Waitress and her office boy partner with a sharp suit and kipper tie.
