John Gilbreath is the host of KEXP’s Jazz Theater, Sunday nights into Monday mornings, from 1am-3am. A jazz fanatic since childhood, John has a reverence for the cultural heritage of the music, with a dedication to advancing its forward progression. He is thoroughly immersed in the local and national jazz and performing arts scene as the executive director of Seattle’s respected Earshot Jazz organization. He oversees Earshot’s publication and services to the community, and has produced nearly 3,000 far-reaching concerts in the region, including Seattle’s annual Earshot Jazz Festival each fall. He actively works with regional arts organizations and national jazz consortia, hosts the weekly Caravan show on KBCS, and, in his rare spare moments, is a life-long student of stone sculpture.
