DJ Michele Myers is a producer, programmer and DJ at KEXP in Seattle and has also hosted and produced on WNYE in New York City and KALX University of California Berkeley.
Michele’s bold mix of beats, rock, global and soulful music has inspired dance parties weekly on “KEXP Friday Night” and at many live parties: Seattle Space Needle New Year's Eve for KEXP, Seattle Art Museum, The Crocodile, Nectar, The Paramount Theatre, Showbox Market, Bumbershoot and Golden Gate Park San Francisco.
Michele grew up in Pennsylvania, California and Hawaii. She’s lived in Seattle and worked at KEXP for more than two decades. Her writing and radio stories are featured at Mo' Pop (voice artist and writer consultant for Jimi Hendrix audio exhibit), University of Washington (class material "Blues for Hard Times"), the Frye Museum ("Masters of Turntablism" series) and the Smithsonian Institute (co-producer of American Sabor: Latin Musicians in U.S. Popular Music"), NPR Music (“Big Beat”, “Turning the Tables”) and KEXP (KEXP Documentaries, 200 episodes).
Michele runs her own DJ company Soulful Alternative, bringing curated mixes, lights and sound for cinematic and dance party experiences.
