From last week's Spud War, we continue our tuberous theme with Tater Totz, which you might think would be even more contentious than Devo's synth-heavy fifth album, but which seems to have been more well received at KCMU. What is the deal with Tater Totz? I think just attempting to explain this project would take up more space than I usually give to an entire post. But I did find a very thorough and well-written post elsewhere on the Internet which puts it all in perspective pretty well. Basically, indie rock superstars/smartypantses get super-weird and jokey, and put out this thing that nobody knows what to do with. Perhaps this is exactly what you need to do get college radio DJs excited!
