  • San Diego-based surf rockers Wavves have announced the release of their fourth album this spring. The LP, tentatively titled Afraid of Heights, will be out March 26 on Mom + Pop, and fellow California crooner Jenny Lewis is slated to make an appearance. "You know the tone of King of the Beach and the first two records? Like, I 'got no car, got no money,' but, I still got my parents' house to live in so it's not that bad," Nathan Williams told Spin. "The realness of life starts to hit you later on. That's more prominent on this record." Watch the video for "Sail to the Sun," a track from the new album, below.
  • Wavves will be performing at SXSW this year, and several other bands were just added to the already impressive roster yesterday afternoon. Vampire Weekend, Camera Obscura, Tegan and Sara, Local Natives, Frightened Rabbit, Black Lips, Mr. MFN eXquire, Stagnant Pools, and more acts have all been confirmed. Check out the full line-up here.

  • Best Coast will be touring North America with Green Day this spring, after all. After Billie Joe Armstrong's rehab stint, the Green Day tour was postponed and rescheduled, but it looks like Bethany Cosentino and Bobb Bruno are still on the bill. Consequence of Sound has the full list of new tour dates.

  • Toro Y Moi are also heading out on tour this year with Dog Bite, and they're marking the occasion by releasing a split 7" single with the Atlanta band. According to Pitchfork, physical copies of the "Lyin (Pt. 1-4)"/"Would Be" single will only be available for purchase on tour, but you can purchase it digitally on January 26. Check out the full list of Toro Y Moi tour dates here, and listen to "Lyin (Pt. 1-4)" below (via Soundcloud).
