  • Yo La Tengo have premiered a new video for their song "I'll Be Around" (which, by the way, is their first new video in 16 years), and it features Mac McCaughn, founder of Superchunk and the Merge record label, singing the song and picking at a guitar in a woodsy field somewhere. The video is also interspersed with the stages of a recipe for tortilla soup, as well as other non-cooking bits of text in very small print (be ready to pause the video), and when the band finally does show up -- cooking the very same soup -- another unexpected guest arrives just at the end of the song. The band is currently on tour in support of their new album Fade out now on Matador. [CoS]

  • French duo Daft Punk have announced their fourth LP will be released by Columbia in May. This will their first album since 2005's Human After All, and their first proper album not to be released on EMI/Virgin. It's been rumored that in recent years they've recorded some sessions with Panda Bear, Giorgio Moroder, and Chilly Gonzales among others -- no details yet, but here's hoping some of that makes it onto the album! • The new Strokes album will be released on March 26 on RCA. The band has shared the cover art, as well as a new lyric poster for the sing released last week "One Way Trigger". Check out both pics below, and take another listen to "One Way Trigger". [CoS]

  • Gambles, which is the moniker for NYC-based songwriter Matthew Daniel Siskin, has premiered a new song on Stereogum called "Safe Side". Everything about the sound -- from the sparse yet powerful instrumentation, the unaffected voice -- is strong honest music, with great lyrics to boot (a bit Dylan-esque, especially considering the photo released with the song).
