KEXP and Sub Pop Records are proud to present the second annual SMooCH event to benefit Uncompensated Care at Seattle Children’s Hospital. SMooCH, a.k.a. Seattle Musicians for Children’s Hospital, is a benefit concert and auction for Seattle Children’s Hospital, which will be taking place this year at the Showbox at the Market. The evening also features a “raise the glass auction’. The lineup this year includes The Helio Sequence, The Lonely Forest, Allen Stone, Shelby Earl, and a special guest who is yet to be officially announced. The event takes place on Saturday, December 14th. Doors will be at 6:00 p.m.; The show begins at 7:00 p.m. The show is 21+. 100% of all SMooCH proceeds to go directly to Seattle Children’s. Over 100,000 patients get treatment at Seattle Children’s every year, and 60% of them don’t have the means to fully pay for the excellent care they receive. Children’s mission is to help all who need the help, regardless of whether they can afford it. Community support is instrumental in providing the funds necessary to support all patient families at Seattle Children’s Hospital. And now here are songs from the artists that were kind enough to donate their talents for this event. The Helio Sequence - Hallelujah (Live on KEXP)
Portland duo The Helio Sequence formed back in 1996 and are still going strong. Brandon Summers takes care of vocals as well as guitar duties, while Benjamin Weikel handles drums and keyboards. For two people, they create a big sound. The Helio Sequence are old friends of KEXP and have performed on our airwaves many times. Here they are performing the song “Hallelujah” from their 2009 album Keep Your Eyes Ahead during our 2012 Bumbershoot broadcast:

Shelby Earl - Sea of Glass (Live on KEXP)
The latest album from Earl, Swift Arrows, was produced by Damien Jurado. There will be a pink vinyl release show at the Tractor Tavern for Swift Arrows on January 25th. To promote the new album, Shelby and her band stopped by during The Morning Show this past May. Here is footage of their performance of the song, “Sea of Glass”:

The Lonely Forest - Fire-Breather (Live on KEXP)
This Anacortes based band formed in 2005. They were the first band to be signed to Chris Walla’s Trans label, which is where they are still currently signed. They’ve toured with Death Cab For Cutie, The Joy Formidable, Portugal the Man, Two Door Cinema Club, and Minus the Bear. Here is their performance of “Fire-Breather” from their excellent new album Adding Up the Wasted Hours when they stopped by our studios this past October:
