  • Psychedelic rock band Tame Impala decided to do a little reworking of Outkast's track "Prototype" from their incredibly popular Speakerboxxx/The Love Below album. The cover retains the slow burn of the original, but Kevin Parker's voice has a bit more innocence than that of Andre 3000 and Big Boi. [Pitchfork]

  • Local Natives enlisted the help of Australian producers PVT to remix their song "Heavy Feet" in honor of their upcoming Australian tour. The simplicity of the vocals remains intact but the addition of thumping dance beats adds something I didn't realize was missing. [Stereogum]

  • Depeche Mode have already shared a couple black-and-white video clips from tracks of their recent Delta Machine album. The most recent addition to the group is the melancholy song "Goodbye." It's raw and soulful with Dave Gahan lamenting over a delicious blues guitar line. [SPIN]

  • Tripwires' new song "Shimmer" starts off sounding like something we've heard before, but then the guitar and fervid drums kick in. There's a static sound that creates a sense of urgency - along with the lyrics "if you're sensing a heart attack, nothing can alter that" - that proves they're a rare breed. Look for their new album Spacehopper on June 18 via Frenchkiss Records. [CoS]

  • Here's a little heads up from MGMT. Apparently they will be dropping a new song next week called "Something to Do with Prince." The track will be featured on a three band split 7" vinyl along with an instrumental song from Spacemen 3 and a track from the band Spectrum. Only 1,000 copies will be produced (via The Great Pop Supplement), so don't waste any time! [CoS]
