There’s always a buzz in the air as the Sasquatch! line-up announcement approaches. Like a sighting of it’s elusive namesake, rumors abound about who will grace the festival at the Gorge.
Be one of the first to find out who’s playing Sasquatch! 2014 at the launch party this Monday, February 3, at the Neptune Theatre. As in years past, the party’s a preview, a little tease of good times ahead, with performances by Cold War Kids and St. Lucia and led by first-time host and local hero John Roderick of The Long Winters. In addition to all the amazing band performances through the evening — including Sir Sly and Derek and Pete from The Cave Singers — the story of Sasquatch! unfolds in a live action film produced by the Wexley School for Girls, and the much-anticipated festival lineup is revealed. Or is it the story of a Siamese Sasquatch?
The build-up for this year’s announcement is even greater than usual, as 2014 marks the year Sasquatch! is multiplied by two, with shows both Memorial Day Weekend, May 23-25, and the Fourth of July weekend, July 4-6. It’s twice as much reason to celebrate.
Launch party tickets are available through a Washington Health Plan Finder Facebook sweepstakes — enter to win a chance at 100 pairs of tickets, and two grand prize winners receive VIP tickets to both Sasquatch! weekends. A limited number of tickets to the launch party will be available free on Saturday, February 1, at 1 pm at the Neptune Theatre box office. The Sasquatch! launch party show is all ages, and starts at 8 pm.
