To say Ian Moore has had a tumultuous career in music is an understatement. He was so popular of a blues guitarist early in his career that once screaming tipped his tour van over, leaving him and his band trapped for hours. He studied musicology in college, once fled to a cave near Krause Springs to study Gregorian chant, and basically learned his early moves in Joe Ely's touring band, but has played with a long list of A-listers. But Moore, who divides his time between Seattle and Austin, TX, found a greater love of roots and garage rock, leading to a split from his first label over creative grounds. With The Lossy Coils, Moore is able to channel all of his diverse interests, including Middle Eastern psychedelia, without worry of expectations of labels or fans. But no matter where his passions lead him, Moore's fans always dig his new music and his tantalizing live performances.
