This Saturday, November 1st, KEXP’s Audioasis Community Partnerships Concert features local hip-hop acts Gifted Gab, Hightek Lowlives, and Nu Era. They'll bring the beats to the Vera Project for an all-ages show to benefit East African Community Services. East African Community Services prepares King County's East African youth for the future through innovative education and technology programs. Since 2001, they have helped thousands of families in New Holly and across Rainier Valley to thrive in school and the community. The organization focuses on youth through innovative education and technology programs, and also provides adult citizenship and social services to support whole family health.

Five things you can do right now to get involved with East African Community Services:

  1. Like their Facebook page.
  2. Visit their website to see videos of their kids in action.
  3. Follow them on Twitter for updates on monthly networking and cultural events.
  4. Sign up for their newsletter to learn more about our programs.
  5. Become a part of their team of skilled volunteers in South Seattle.

“East African Community Services loves KEXP for filing our offices with music from Seattle and around the world and introducing our amazing kids to your community of listeners.” –Faisal Jama, Executive Director, EACS

Doors are at 7:30 PM, and show at 8:00 PM at the Vera Project. Tickets cost $8 at the door, or you can purchase advance tickets for $7 online.
