Every year, KEXP DJ John Richards produces the "Mom Show," a beautiful three-hour program of remembrance and reflection. The show began as a memorial for his own mother after she passed away from cancer, and with an outpouring of support from KEXP listeners, has evolved into a tribute to all our loved ones who have died. Today, Thursday, November 13th, the annual show has its tenth anniversary from 6:00 to 10:00 AM PT.
Later tonight, John will take the stage at Seattle's Town Hall for the sold out event "Death and Music." Richards will share his inspirations for the show, and take an honest look at how a community comes together to share their experiences of death and music. With special musical guests, and personal stories from past years of the program, he’ll explore the intersection of these two distinct veins of life and how they feed into one another. Doors are at 6:30 PM. A limited number of tickets will be made available at the door beginning at this time.
Even if you don't live in Seattle, you can still spend your morning listening to John's show, all across the world. And, this year, you can join your fellow Morning Faithful listeners in contributing to a special tile that will hang at our new home. Engraved with the phrase "For All Our Moms," the tile pays tribute to every mother. Click here to make your gift towards this special tile today.
