  • Like all good things from the '90s, The Juliana Hatfield Three are back! It's been 22 years since the release of their breakthrough album Become What You Are, but on February 17th, 2015 they'll return with Whatever, My Love via American Laundromat. Today, they share the first single "If I Could," which hardcore Hatfield fans may recognize from older demos. In a statement, the former Sassy Magazine postergirl says, "Some of you may have heard an older demo version of this song… I have always loved this song and I always wanted it to be done up properly and although this is not shockingly or radically different than the demo, I really love it." • Golden Globe nominations were announced this morning, and several KEXP faves garnered nominations in the musical categories. Icelandic composer Jóhann Jóhannsson received a nomination for his score of the Stephen Hawking biopic The Theory Of Everything. He'll be competing against previous winners Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross for their work on David Fincher’s Gone Girl. Patti Smith and Lenny K got a nomination for Best Original Song in a Motion Picture for their contribution to Noah. [Spin]

  • Swedish DJ/producer The Field (aka Axel Willner) have transformed the Interpol track "Same Town, New Story" into an epic eleven minute odyssey. Willner wraps the song in some serious synths, which you can download for free below, via Stereogum. El Pintor is out now via Matador Records. [Stereogum]

  • Baltimore beat-genius Dan Deacon shares a video for the electro-pop jam "Feel the Lightning" from his forthcoming self-produced full-length Gliss Riffer. The (possibly?) NSFW video features from amorous furniture, directed by Andrew Jeffrey Wright. Gliss Riffer will be out February 24th via Domino. [Under the Radar]
