  • New York duo Phantogram are releasing their sophomore album, Voices, on February 18th via Republic Records, but you can listen to it now via NPR. NPR notes, "Voices is the sound of a band at ease and assured in its moment, as it seizes every scrap of momentum it's created for itself." [NPR]
  • Indie rock overachievers Guided By Voices have shared a new video for the track "Planet Score," off their 98th* full-length album Motivational Jumpsuit, out next week on their own GBV Inc. (*Not true.) Watch actor Matt Jones (Badger from AMC's Breaking Bad!) alongside siblings Rob Corddry (The Daily Show, Hot Tub Time Machine) and Nate Corddry. [Pitchfork]

  • For Record Store Day 2014, Lefse Records is launching The Space Project, a compilation of new music created using actual sounds from space. A press release explains the sounds are “electromagnetic radiation fluctuations in the magnetosphere of the planets, moons, and large asteroids the Voyager probes traveled near.” So, duh, who better to ask to contribute to the comp than Spiritualized? Participating under the name "Spiritualized Mississippi Space Program," the band contribute the minimalist track "Always Forgetting With You (The Bridge Song)," which you can stream below. [Consequence of Sound]

  • L.A. girl group Warpaint have announced some additional North American tour dates, including a May 2nd stop at Neumos. Stream their KEXP in-studio session from last month in our On Demand section here. [Under the Radar]

  • German electro-pop group The Notwist are releasing their first album in six years later this month, titled Close To The Glass. It's also their first for Seattle's own Sub Pop Records. Check out the video for the track "Kong" below, directed by Yu Sato. [Stereogum]

  • Folk chanteuse Marissa Nadler has also shared a new video today for her track "Was It All a Dream" off her latest July, out now on Sacred Bones. She'll be LIVE on KEXP this Saturday at 3:00 PM PT, and playing the Fremont Abbey later that night. Tune into The Afternoon Show with Kevin Cole this Thursday for your chance to win tickets to that all ages show. [Spin]

  • Beloved Portland music festival MusicfestNW have announced they are changing their format in 2014: rather than having shows spread across the city, they'll be taking over the Tom McCall Waterfront Park in the heart of downtown on August 16th and 17th. They've also announced that the cost of wristbands will decrease, and the event will be more all-ages friendly. [MFNW]
