Delorean's synth-heavy alternative dance music resonates like the clean whir of a fully-functioning flux capacitor. Typically, their albums contain influences ranging from punk rock to electronic music, giving Delorean their eclectic sound. Having dropped a new album, Apar, in Fall of 2013 on the New York label True Panther Sounds, Delorean's style seems to be heading into a more serious, more poignant, reflective dimension. About the new album, frontman Ekhi Lopetegi states that, "Apar relates to the inconsistency of things and the futility of things. That tension brings together the whole album." With a dreamy pulse, the band echoes various synth-pop predecessors like A Flock of Seagulls, Ultravox, and Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, requiring all their listeners to sway and swing as the beats move on.
