Amazingly, Bear Hands have been around since 2006, but haven't gained the recognition they deserve until relatively recently. Before re-locating to Brooklyn's lush music scene, the band suffered through a falling-out and the loss of their first manager. But, despite their ups and downs, their single, "Giants," which you can hear during their recent in-studio session at KEXP, snagged the attention of major record labels (ultimately landing on Cantora Records) and radio stations alike, finally bringing the band into the independent spotlight almost eight years later. Now, with stability on their side, the band is looking forward to promoting their sophomore album, Distraction, hoping to amass an even larger crowd of aural enthusiasts.
