  • Up until now we've only had live renditions of new Interpol songs to share, but we finally have the first single from their fifth album, El Pintor (or “The Painter” in Spanish, ALSO an anagram for the band name). Check out the video for "All The Rage Back Home" below, directed by frontman Paul Banks himself. El Pintor will be out September 9th on Matador Records. [Under the Radar]

  • Earlier this month, the comedy/music compilation 2776: A Millennium of American Asskickery hit stores, and today we've got a video to share of Neko Case & Kelly Hogan's contribution, "These Aren’t The Droids." The hilarious clip also features actress Ellie Kemper of The Office. Proceeds from sales of the album go to benefit OneKid OneWorld. [Consequence of Sound]

  • If you missed them at Bumbershoot last year, The Breeders are coming back to Seattle, playing September 10th at The Showbox! Kim Deal and friends are currently working on a new album that they plan to debut on the fall North American tour. Check out the complete list of tour dates at the link. [Under the Radar]

  • Since Brooklyn trio Vivian Girls called it a day, bassist Katy Goodman has been busy with her project La Sera, and now we have new music from frontwoman Cassie Ramone. Her debut solo album, The Time Has Come, will be out August 26th via Loglady. Stream the track "Hangin On" below: [Pitchfork]

  • Science meets music in the upcoming compilation release, Body of Songs, that features various artists singing about different parts of the human anatomy. Although the collection doesn't come out 'til 2015, we have the Bat for Lashes track to share below. Check out "Skin Song" below. (What? No song about eyelashes?) [Stereogum]

  • KEXP fave Sharon Van Etten recently appeared on Funny or Die's Throwing Shade video podcast for a round of "Shade or No Shade." (Surprising choice: Van Halen = no shade!) Check out the rest of her results around the 9 minute mark below: [Pitchfork]
