It seems like every neighborhood in the Northwest is having its own music festival, and Anacortes is no exception. This Friday, July 18th through Sunday, July 20th, the dreamy northern port-town hosts the fourth annual Anacortes Unknown Music Series. Formerly known as What the Heck Fest, Anacortes Unknown is more than a music festival: comic artist Anders Nilsen will conduct a presentation of his work, there will be a book fair featuring local independent publishers, film screenings, and musician Phil Elverum will present the launch of his new photography collection, DUST.
Of course, the music line-up is Anacortes-friendly, featuring Mount Eerie, Lovers Without Borders, Ever Ending Kicks, but this year also features a special headliner, all the way from Kentucky: Bonnie "Prince" Billy. It's sure to be a very special weekend of music, in a most-beautiful location. Three-Day passes are sold out, but tickets will be sold at all shows (except the dinner show on Saturday). All the shows in Causland Park are free and open to the public. Friday, July 18th, 20144pm to 5pm at Watermark Book Co., 612 Commercial Ave.ANDERS NILSEN book signing
