Yesterday, Grimes unearthed a previously unreleased track that she recorded in 2009 with Devon Welsh of Majical Cloudz. At the time, the pair were on bad terms with their obese cat, Voignamir, who weighed somewhere between 20-30 pounds. His dieting angst inspired this song, which you can stream on her Tumblr here. Along with the rest of the internet, I hope she shares a photo of Voignamir next. [Pitchfork]

Alt-J share the video for their heavily-requested track "Hunger of the Pine" — it's a creepy clip, featuring a man (possibly a Miley Cyrus fan?) being hunted down. The sophomore release This Is All Yours hits stores September 22nd via Warner Music, and the band play Wednesday, October 15th in Seattle at The Paramount. [Under the Radar]

We've been celebrating Lou Barlow's birthday today on The Morning Show on KEXP, but turns out, we're the ones who get a present: Barlow has announced he'll be hitting the road with fellow '90s icon Thurston Moore this fall for a six-date West Coast tour, including an October 4th stop at Neumos. Sebadoh's most recent release is their 2013 reunion album, Defend Yourself, and Moore is expected to have a new solo album out by September. [Consequence of Sound]

Yesterday, we shared a bold new track from local artist Perfume Genius, and today, we've got an equally in-your-face video for the track "Queen." Too Bright comes out September 23rd on Matador Records, and Perfume Genius performs October 25th at the Neptune Theatre. [Stereogum]

California kids Avi Buffalo return this fall with the album, At Best Cuckold, out on September 9th on Sub Pop Records. Check out the dreamy video for the track "So What," starring frontman Avi Zahner-Isenberg. [Under the Radar]

Good grief, Arcade Fire are still on tour for last year's album, Reflektor? Well, when their line-ups are this fun, you kinda hope they never go home. Today, the Canadian troupe announced future shows will be opened by Devo, Television, and Antibalas, plus, Steve Mackey of Pulp will perform an after-show DJ set in L.A. Here in Seattle, we'll have opening act Dan Deacon when the band play Friday, August 8th at The Gorge Amphitheatre. [Pitchfork]

In sad news, today the music world lost legendary Blues guitarist Johnny Winter at the age of 70. The Grammy-award winning musician and producer released nearly 20 studio albums during his career, and also produced three albums for Muddy Waters in the late '70s.
