Song of the Day: BRONCHO - Class Historian

Today’s song, featured on The Midday Show with DJ Cheryl Waters, is “Class Historian” by BRONCHO, from the 2014 album Just Enough Hip To Be Woman out September 16th on Dine Alone Records.

It's one of the catchiest songs of the summer. Who hasn't tried to sing along to the latest single from Oklahoma trio BRONCHO?

Since their 2010 debut, the band has been launched into the limelight when director/actress Lena Dunham used their track "It’s On" in season three of her HBO show GIRLS. The TV time caught the attention of Dine Alone Records, who put out the band's sophomore release, Just Enough Hip To Be Woman. The new release finds the group expanding their garage rock sound with a love of power-pop bands like Cheap Trick and The Cars.

The band are just about to kick off their nationwide tour, including a Sunday, August 31st stop at the Showbox SoDo, with Brand New and Joyce Manor. Frontman Ryan Lindsey says, "Playing live is the entire reason you start a band. We always want to change things and keep things new — and I’m really proud of how this record came out and the ways we were able to push things forward — but playing live is always the test. We want people to hear us. We want everyone to have a good time."
