You know him as host of the Afternoon Show and Senior Director of Programming at KEXP, but before moving to Seattle in 1998, Kevin Cole was the house DJ at First Avenue in Minneapolis, started and managed record stores, helped build and launch the legendary radio station Rev 105, and started one of the country's first house and techno nights, as revealed in Michaelangelo Matos' new article published by the Red Bull Music Academy.
On Thursday nights at 7th Street Entry (the sister venue to First Avenue), Cole and his friend Thomas Spiegel hosted House Nation Under a Groove.
