Kicking off with an instrumental intro that transported you to a cosmic world filled with a mix of euphoric synthetic sounds, wild vocal cries, and heavy drums, Django Django enraptured the audience at Showbox at the Market on Tuesday night, taking them on an energetic journey through their 2015 album, Born Under Saturn and beyond.

With the famous Showbox floor rhythmically bouncing from the enthusiastic fans jumping to the beat of their famous beloved songs from Django Django's self-titled 2013 debut album, the mix between the new and iconic did not disappoint. The band played to the crowd and opened their sound to a new but familiar indie synthetic rock vibe with a euphoric pop influence. Leading man/producer, drummer David Maclean drove the underlying sound with an unrelenting addictive percussive beat. As usual, the band employed a variety of unconventional instrumentation, from a cardboard box drum to coconuts to a Vibraslap, leaving the crowd impressed but with eyebrows raised in curious wonderment. Songs ranged from the familiar "Hail Bop" and "Default" to the newer hits "First Light" and the encore included "4000 Years". All bases covered, all fans happy, and nothing was amiss.Notably opening the show was Wild Belle. With an upcoming sophomore album, Dreamland, due in January, this remarkable sibling musical writing duo out of Chicago, Elliot and Natalie Bergman, performed a handful of soulful indie rock songs, filled with a range of complex musical flavors, like reggae, funk, jazz and rock. The crowd swayed and danced to the rich layers of pianos and saxophone with Natalie Bergman's deep evocative voice reining their sound.
