  • Brooklyn-based popsters The Pains of Being Pure at Heart announce a new EP today, Hell, out November 13th via their own cleverly-named label, Painbow. Today, they share a track from that, a cover of the 1993 single "Laid" from Manchester band James, which you've surely heard on The Morning Show on KEXP. Jen Goma, also of A Sunny Day in Glasgow, takes lead vocal. Listen below: [Consequence of Sound]

  • Canadian electro-pop duo Junior Boys also announce a new release today, their first since 2011's It's All True. Check out the title track below, "Big Black Coat," out February 5th via City Slang. Vocalist Jeremy Greenspan explained, "To my ears, it’s the sound of fabric swishing. That day, I bought a coat — in fact, a big grey coat, but singing ‘big black coat’ worked better. And it really encapsulated everything I was thinking about when I made the album, so I wanted that as the title." Junior Boys bring the new release to Seattle on Friday, March 11th at The Neptune. • Sufjan Stevens continues to trek the world in support of his latest release, Carrie and Lowell. Today, he shares a remix of the track "Blue Bucket of Gold" from that album, recorded with his current touring line-up while in Portland, OR, at Tucker Martine's studio, with additional work in Sufjan's own Brooklyn studio. It's described as a recorded version of how they've been performing it live while on the road. Listen below: [Under the Radar]

  • Big Grams -- the collaboration of Outkast's Big Boi and Phantogram -- stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! to perform tracks from their self-titled debut, out now via Epic Records. Watch them perform the tracks "Goldmine Junkie" and, with help from the Brooklyn Express Drumline, "Drum Machine." Keep track of all these late night TV highlights with KEXP's TV Eye column, right here on the blog! [Consequence of Sound]
