KEXP Presents: SMooCH 2015 at Showbox at the Market, 12/5

This Saturday, December 5th, KEXP proudly presents the 5th annual SMooCH (Seattle Musicians for Children’s Hospital) Benefit Concert. All proceeds for SMooCH go directly towards Seattle Children’s Hospital uncompensated care program. Every year, 60% of the 100,000 patients who receive treatment from Seattle Children’s Hospital are unable to pay for their medical expenses. Seattle Children’s Hospital makes sure that everyone and anyone can receive medical care regardless of their financial situation.

To help make this happen, veteran Sub Pop band The Afghan Whigs will play their only show of 2015. Local legend Sir Mix-A-Lot and Seattle's own Mary Lambert will open the show. Plus, there will be one more special guest, announced this Friday, December 4th on The Morning Show on KEXP. Morning Show host John Richards will emcee the event. In addition to this stellar musical line-up, there will also be a silent auction, featuring such items as a signed pair of shoes from Seattle Seahawks' quarterback Russell Wilson, and the moped Macklemore rides in his video for "Downtown."

This year, you can also choose a VIP ticket package featuring wine from the Underground Wine Project, as well as a curated meal by guest chef Ethan Stowell with his friends Brendan McGill (Hitchcock), Josh Henderson (Westward), John Sundstrom (Lark), Rachel Yang and Seif Chirchi (Revel, Trove, and Joule), Joe Ritchie (Goldfinch Tavern) , and Holly Smith (Cafe Juanita).

Both VIP and General Admission tickets are available online here for this 21+ event. Those who can’t attend but still want to support the event and the cause are encouraged to make a donation at Seattle Children’s instead of buying tickets.
