Yes. You read correctly. While we may all still be reeling from International Clash Day from last week, next Thursday, February 26th, marks what would have been the 83rd birthday of Johnny Cash, which gives us the perfect excuse to proclaim yet another holiday: International Cash Day! Why? Because why not! To get you ready for International Cash Day, here a few videos of the Man In Black himself...“Get Rhythm”
Johnny Cash was born in 1932 and as a child and teenager, he was known as “J.R.”. Supposedly he didn’t begin answering to the name Johnny until he began his recording career. Here is footage of a young Johnny Cash in one of his earlier television appearances during a show from the mid-50’s called The Tex Ritter's Ranch Party TV Show.

“Ring of Fire”
The love of his life was June, as in June Carter-Cash. “Ring of Fire” was written by June Carter Cash along with her cousin, Merle Kilgore before she married Johnny Cash. The song was originally recorded by Anita Carter, June's sister. June and Johnny were married from 1968 until the time of June's passing in 2003 after complications from heart surgery. Johnny died just four months later due to complications from diabetes.

“Jackson”
"Jackson" was one of the biggest and well known hits for Johnny and June Cash. This footage is from The Johnny Cash Show, which ran on CBS from 1969-1971. The show spotlighted some of the greatest musicians of our time including Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison, and Ray Charles to name just a few.
