KEXP is excited to present another special all-electronic edition of Audioasis on Saturday, April 18th! Hosted by DJ Alex and co-produced with the help and guidance of Audioasis host DJ Sharlese, the show will feature live performances from Seattle-based electronic musician IG88 at 6:30 PM and Portland-based electronic producer Dylan Stark at 8:30 PM! The solo alias of Branden Clarke, IG88 has become a staple within the local electronic community over the past 5+ years, releasing multiple albums in addition to a steady stream of singles and remixes under his solo alias, while also serving as the lead producer to the latest breakout material from neo-soul and electro-R&B artist Shaprece as well as contributing beats for leftfield hip-hop outfit Triceracorn. Regardless of genre or project, Clarke consistently brings his lush, cinematic, downtempo beats to the table with an effortless and entertaining touch.
Dylan Stark is a relatively new name to the Pacific Northwest community, yet he's already making international waves with his debut album Heartland, released at the beginning of April by the expertly-curated, London-based label Civil Music. Patiently created over roughly five years from thousands of samples that are brought to life in a full, heavily-layered manner similar to conducting an orchestra, Stark's first offering is an otherworldly, head-turning affair that yields comparisons to Burial, Four Tet, Gold Panda, and The Field. Recently making his live debut at this year's SXSW, this all-electronic edition of Audioasis will be his first time performing live in Seattle.
In addition to these two exclusive live performances, DJ Alex will be sharing the best of Pacific Northwest electronic music throughout the show, spotlighting both established artists and budding newcomers crafting sounds from all over the electronic music spectrum. Tune in to discover the vibrant and fertile talent pool of electronic musicians that currently call the Pacific Northwest their home!
