Warm Soda - Cryin For A Love (MP3)
With their third LP, Austin quartet Warm Soda have crafted a selection of tracks so sweet and addictive no doubt Mr. Slugworth is keen to steal the recipe. Symbolic Dream takes the idea of a less is more to a new level and with all its crunchy guitars, warm melodies, dusty garage production and hook after hook, has all the makings of a great power-pop record. As a delicious soundbite from the record, "Cryin For A Love" is a candy coated mixture of vocalist Matthew Melton's self-assured, conversational delivery, the woozy nonchalance of the rhythm section and taut but tasty guitar work. The melody is instantly approachable and the catchy chorus is packing more flavor than a packet of Skittles. Warm Soda will quench the thirst of those with a lust for carefree sugar filled pop with addictive 2 to 3 minute tunes that both your mum and your dealer could whistle along with in equal gusto.
Warm Soda are currently on a European tour and do not have any shows currently scheduled in the U.S., but you can stay up to date with the band on their website and Facebook page, and pick up our own copy of Symbolic Dream from Fuzz City Records.
