I was so excited about going to see Television next week at the Moore that I had this whole plan to do a post around their two first albums and had it all ready to go before I realized that I'd covered the KCMU DJs' gushing response to their classic debut, Marquee Moon a few years ago. But that's all right, because really, why shouldn't Adventure get its own dedicated post? It's not as universally hailed as its predecessor - perhaps it suffered by being released so close on the heels of such a masterpiece, and being somewhat of a departure from that original sound - but it certainly deserves to be listened to and admired on its own merits. The KCMU gang certainly seem to have appreciated it when it was added to the library a good five years after its release.

"Another classic addition to our library. From NY c. 1978"

"(Yes, that's Tom Verlaine singing)..."

"Yippy!!!"

"What does this record have to do with the Youth International Party?"

"NOT BAD."

"FUCKING GREAT IS WHAT I MEANT."

"'The Fire' has a skip."

"When I think of what I was listening to in 1978, when I could have been listening to this, I wanna cry."
