Supporting KEXP does have its perks. Donors who contributed $500 or more during the KEXP pledge drive are awarded membership to KEXP's VIP Club concert series, allowing them access to exclusive, intimate performances throughout the year. In the past, such artists have included The Lumineers, Interpol, Sufjan Stevens, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Neko Case, Okkervil River and many others.
Last month, KEXP supporters were treated to a very special performance when Galactic was joined by Grammy-winning singer Macy Gray for a rousing, soulful set in the intimate space of The Triple Door in Seattle. Hailing from New Orleans, Galactic, who has expertly commanded stages for the past twenty years, cultivated and created their multidimensional, funk-inspired sound, while Gray's distinctive, raspy voice weaved between the expressive notes of what she calls "the greatest band in the whole world."
