Sharlese’s pick for today is "The Visitor" by Sean Pierce from the 2015 Transit EP on Motor.
Sean Pierce - The Visitor (MP3)Says Sharlese...
Sean Pierce is part of a project out of Portland called ASSS. Yes, it’s said exactly the way it’s spelled, which is humoring. They used to be more of a band style project with a cool chromey sound. Then one day I found a track of theirs on vinyl that sounded different. They had changed their sound and went in a techno direction, and I was totally into it! Sean Pierce is one of the members of the duo and is making solo tunes. This EP was sent to me by the local Seattle crew MOTOR, who have been making waves by booking cool techno, noise and experimental shows. They really support the local scene and Sean’s “Transit” EP is one of my favorite local releases of this year. This track, “The Visitor”, has this bouncey industrial techno sound that makes me very happy. Sean will be playing the MOTOR showcase on Friday, 9/25 at The Crocodile with a stellar line-up that includes Shifted, Pharmakon, Container and PLL.
