It's been, like, eleven months -- we're overdue for a new Ty Segall album! All kidding aside, the prolific artist has announced a new self-titled LP coming out January 27th via Drag City. Check out the first single, "Orange Color Queen," below. The track is quite a departure from January's Emotional Mugger -- no rubber baby masks here! The press release even calls it "a supreme moment of tenderness." The album was recorded with his most recent touring band: Emmett Kelly, Mikal Cronin, Charles Moothart, and Ben Boye. Ty has also announced a handful of shows, including a Thursday, March 2nd stop at Neumos. [Under the Radar]

Another album announced today comes from Pissed Jeans. Check out the single "The Bar Is Low" from their forthcoming full-length, Why Love Now, out February 24th via Sub Pop. Via a press release, frontman Matt Korvette says the song is about "how every guy seems to be revealing themselves as a shithead." (Appropriate title, then!) The album was produced by New York no wave legend Lydia Lunch and Arthur Rizk (of Sumerlands), and also features a contribution from author Lindsay Hunter. [Pitchfork]

Local trio Dude York are releasing their sophomore album, Sincerely. Check out the first single "Black Jack" below, featuring guitarist Peter Richards on lead vocals. You can get the LP starting February 24th via Hardly Art. Apparently, digital downloads include the single "John Darnielle," and I'm just dying to know what those lyrics are like! [Stereogum]
