Y'know how some families have the tradition of opening just one present on Christmas Eve, and then the rest on Christmas Morning? Trent Reznor is doing the same with the new Nine Inch Nails EP, giving us just one track before its December 23rd release. Check out the single "Burning Bright (Field on Fire)" below. Reznor teamed up with longtime collaborator Atticus Ross on the entire release, which is officially out tomorrow via the NIN website. Thanks, Trent! [Pitchfork]

And we've got a little more information on the upcoming new album from Spoon! Frontman Britt Daniel shared with Entertainment Weekly that they've teamed up again with producer Dave Fridmann. "I love working with Dave because he makes a point to fuck things up," Daniel said. "I feel like we are on to something — we’re covering some new ground." The release will also mark the band's return to Matador Records, who released the band's debut Telephono back in 1996. The still-untitled LP should be out sometime in March. The most recent King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard album hit #29 in KEXP Listeners' Top 90.3 Albums of 2016, and now the Australian psychrockers have promised more. In fact, they've pledged to release five full-length studio albums in 2017! They're kicking things off with Flying Microtonal Banana, out in February 24th on ATO. And lastly, a bit of sad news: Greg Gilbert, the "is this a woman singing"-frontman for UK band Delays is battling stage 4 bowel cancer that has spread to his lungs. His wife has set up a GoFundMe to help cover the costs of chemotherapy. She writes, "He has so much left to give – Delays have new songs that they want to release and tour, he has sketchbooks filling our home with ideas for drawings and paintings and of course, we have 2 baby girls who absolutely adore him. We desperately need him to be here to watch them grow up." Here's one of the songs that KEXP first fell in love with, from their 2004 album, Faded Seaside Glamour.
