  • Northwest sludgelords Melvins are having a very active 2016, so far. On April 1st, they'll finally release Three Men and a Baby, a long-awaited collaborative album recorded back in 1999 with Mike Kunka of Godheadsilo. And today, they've announced yet another album, Basses Loaded, featuring six different bassists: Krist Novoselic, J.D. Pinkus of Butthole Surfers, Steve McDonald of Redd Kross, Jared Warren of Big Business, and Trevor Dunn of Mr. Bungle/Fantomas. The sixth bassist is Melvins' own Dale Crover, who will abandon his drum kit for a bass guitar on four of the album's tracks. Stream the single "Hideous Woman" (featuring McDonald) below, and track down the full-length on June 3rd when it's released through Ipecac Recordings. [Consequence of Sound]

No release date nor track list shared yet, but he did share a North American tour schedule, including a Saturday, June 4th stop at the Chateau Ste Michelle Winery in Woodinville with Mavis Staples.
