Mac Demarco’s declaration of “make yourself at home” at the beginning of his set at Sasquatch! Music Festival on Saturday was a fitting notion, as Mac has been making himself at home in the ears and hearts of fans for years now. The Canadian songster has a knack for writing songs that float and drift through the air, maintaining residence far after the music has stopped. Although it was his first “Squatch,” Mac certainly looked at home on the Bigfoot stage, as he and his band delivered a set full of fan favorites from a scope of his projects. He is equally effective serenading the crowd about love as he is ripping through a Rush cover, a fact that made his performance extremely dynamic. While a minor exodus of people heading to see Leon Bridges play an acoustic set had Mac pleading people not to leave, he needn’t have worried, for most of Sasquatch! was enchanted by his every move.
