  • Cut Copy returned last month with with the excellent dance album Haiku From Zero. Today, they shared the official video for "Standing In The Middle Of The Field" that portrays a couple's relationship from a birds'-eye view. Directed by Vincenzi Vandella, he says of the video, "The initial concept was to create a video that was uplifting, in a literal sense. We wanted the camera to rise up through various different scenes, telling the story of a couple in one long continuous shot. It would cover the minutia of their everyday intimacy, while also expanding to wider epic vistas, within the one journey. We shot the interior scenes by literally tying a camera to a rope and hoisting it from the ground upwards." [ Under the Radar ]
  • French musician and actress Charlotte Gainsbourg is releasing her new album Rest next month. So far, we've heard the album's title track and "Deadly Valentine" and today she shared Rest's opening track “Ring-A-Ring O’ Roses.” Co-written by Daft Punk’s Guy-Manuel De Homem-Christo and produced by French dance producer SebastiAn, the cinematic slow-burner takes its chorus from the well-known nursery rhyme. Rest drops November 17 via Because Music. [ Pitchfork ]
  • Toronto soul/jazz instrumental four-piece BADBADNOTGOOD have teamed up with Future Islands' Samuel T. Herring for a new single called "I Don't Know." The emotive '70s-style soul song is slow and somber, with Herring singing his heart out. BADBADNOTGOOD and Herring previously collaborated on the song "Time Moves Slow" off of last year's IV.
