This Friday, Scottish band Belle and Sebastian are releasing the first EP in a series of three that they're calling How To Solve Our Human Problems. Today the band has shared a video for the previously released single "I'll Be Your Pilot" via TIDAL. Frontman Stuart Murdoch explained in an interview with TIDAL that he was influenced by Andy Warhol's The Screen Tests for the video. "Back to the ’60s in The Factory, Andy Warhol used to invite people that he thought had interesting faces. He used to just put them in front of the camera, and just start the camera rolling. He let them do whatever they wanted to do, and it was interesting because sometimes they would do very little, and sometimes you would get an emotional response." Part One of How To Solve Our Human Problems is out December 8, Part Two is out January 19, and Part Three will be released February 16, all via Matador Records. [ Consequence of Sound ]

A posthumous Jimi Hendrix album featuring 10 previously unreleased songs will be released this March. Entitled Both Sides of the Sky, the album completes a trilogy collection of posthumous Hendrix albums following 2010's Valleys of Neptune and 2013's People, Hell and Angels. The 13-track album contains material recorded between January 1968 and February 1970, produced by Hendrix's engineer Eddie Kramer, John McDermott, and Hendrix's sister Janie Hendrix. Both Sides of the Sky will be out March 9 on Experience Hendrix/Legacy Recordings. [ Rolling Stone ]

St. Vincent stopped by The Daily Show with Trevor Noah last night and got the opportunity to not only perform but to sit with Noah and chat a bit about her latest album MASSEDUCTION. The charming conversation mostly centered around Annie Clark's choices for the album art and title. When Clark went to perform she did something different from anything she's done on any of her other talk show visits and did a solo, acoustic performance of "Los Ageless." Known mostly for shredding the electric guitar, it's quite the departure. St. Vincent will be playing two nights in Seattle on Thursday, January 18 and Friday, January 19 at the Moore Theatre. Some super-sleuths on Reddit have found evidence that The Avalanches are releasing a deluxe expanded edition of their beloved 2000 debut masterpiece Since I Left You. No official announcement has been made but there's compelling evidence, via catalog info and online foreign retailers who have already put the album up. If Reddit is to be believed then the album is 33 tracks long with a 4 LP edition and the second disc containing 15 rare unreleased mixes and demos. Apparently, the album was initially slated for release on December 1 of this year but got pushed back to February 9, and will be released via Astralwerks. [ Stereogum ]
