Midnight In A Perfect World: Yumi Zouma

Yumi Zouma are four friends that originally grew up together in Christchurch, New Zealand, found themselves in three cities (New York, Paris, Auckland) upon graduating from high school, yet reconnected over the internet to create their charming debut EP in 2014. Their romantic, nostalgia-tinged dream-pop quickly won over fans all over the world, leading to tours opening up for Lorde and Chet Faker, and recently leading the band to finally record an album all together in Paris, yielding their excellent 2016 debut full-length album, Yoncalla. Their exclusive guest DJ mix for Midnight in a Perfect World spotlights some of their favorite nostalgic dancefloor tracks from past decades, playfully moving from timeless disco grooves to throwback soul records, while also sneaking one contemporary jam in the form of DJ Koze's brilliant 2016 remix of UK soul singer Låpsley.
