Song of the Day: White Reaper - The Stack

With three releases officially under their belt, their capabilities and confidence are now fully cranked, as made evident by frontman Tony Esposito. Regarding the title of their album, he states "Because we are the best. Just like Muhammad Ali was the greatest, you gotta say it out loud for people to believe it." White Reaper is here to infect us with their blazing celebration of rock and roll, and there is no escaping it!

Though they are consistently dubbed as "garage rockers", "The Stack" opens up with a riff that is fit for the flair of a pyrotechnic-rigged arena. The track brings forth the spirit of glam rock, with the raw energy of the band’s genuine garage-rock upbringing. *BANG*, fireworks go off and vocals enter with a charmingly punchy sass, further evoking the feeling of 1980s mega-star presence. Distorted guitars shoot howling licks, while the feel-good chorus comes in with driving, poppy piano chords. The track is rambunctious, yet streamlined by their clear intent to simply give us something to smile about. Whether "The Stack" is heard in a sweaty basement, a bursting arena, or at prom in 1983, one thing is for sure: what we have on our hands is some grade-A rock and roll for the whole family!

It is time for us in Seattle to rejoice, as our chance to see White Reaper rip it live is right around the corner.
