In the spirit of Valentine's Day, Ryan Adams has shared a romantic new song. Called "Baby I Love You," the single has a timeless quality, full of jangling guitars and even some bell chimes. According to a press release, it's "A song to one's baby, whom they love - a unique twist on Ryan Adams' classic recipe, with key ingredient 'sad' replaced by 'happy.'" Yeah Yeah Yeahs recently reunited, playing their first show in four years this past October. Now that they're back, the veteran indie rock band stopped by the Spotify studios to record a couple of live cuts, including a cover of Big Star's big 1972 hit "Thirteen." The trio didn't change much about the oft-covered song but it's beautiful nonetheless. They also did a live take of their much-loved song "Maps" from 2003's breakout album Fever To Tell. It appears that something is on the horizon from New York post-punk band Parquet Courts. Recently, fans have been receiving postcards made with artwork in Parquet Courts' Andrew Savage's signature style and containing a URL for a website that has a countdown clock. This has led many to believe that a new Parquet Courts album is on the way, which would not be surprising since they've recently been discussing a forthcoming album with producer Danger Mouse. Parquet Courts will be in town this Friday, February 16 to play the Showbox with Thurston Moore and Heron Oblivion. [ Stereogum ]

Michael Milosh released the sophomore Rhye album, Blood, earlier this month. As a master of everything sexy and sensual, Valentine's Day is a perfect day for him to share the video for Blood track "Song For You." Directed by Milosh and his girlfriend Geneviève Medow Jenkins, the video follows the ups and downs of a couple in love. The video stars Nathalie Kelley and Christopher Brochu. Blood is out now on Loma Vista. [ Stereogum ]
 

American synth-pop band Poliça and UK orchestra s t a r g a z e are releasing a collaborative album, Music for the Long Emergency, this Friday via Totally Gross National Product/Transgressive. They've previously shared the politically-tinged lead single "How Is This Happening" as well as "Agree." Today we get the third and final single before the album drops, "Speaking of a Ghost." Poliça frontwoman Channy Leaneagh explains: “'Speaking Of Ghost' included a sample of mine and Ryan’s 10 month old son at the time playing drums. He was on the road with us for the first performance of the song in Berlin. It’s a note of memories from the first year of his life and it ends with a message to him for his future when I’m gone. He was my constant companion while writing this record: I’d write the lyrics by trying out different melodies and stories on him while I sang him to sleep: he was my silent audience…felt like singing for a ghost." Fiery Furnaces singer Eleanor Friedberger has announced a new upcoming album called Rebound. The album follows 2016's New View and the title was taken from the name of a club in Greece where Friedberger had a very strange and unique experience. She's also shared the album's first single, "In Between Stars." Friedberger announced a string of tour dates but there are no current shows in Seattle. Rebound is out May 4 on Frenchkiss.
