Ty Segall has recently become the go-to musician for television theme songs. Recently, Segall composed the theme song for Comedy Central's news satire The Opposition with Jordan Klepper and now Comedy Central has employed him again, this time for their new workplace satire Corporate. The show stars series creators Matt Ingrebretson and Jake Weisman who work in a soul-sucking oppressive office culture. Listen to the theme song in the show's pilot episode starting at 2:35. Segall released his latest album Freedom's Goblin last month. [ Pitchfork ]
The Breeders are returning with their first album in 10 years, All Nerve, next month. So far, the only original single we've heard from the album is "Wait In The Car." Today they've shared a live-in-studio video of frontwoman Kim Deal covering Michael Nesmith of the Monkees' 1970 singe "Joanne." The song was previously included as a B-side of the physical pressings of "Wait In The Car" sold at their recent live shows. All Nerve is out March 2 on 4AD. On Saturday, February 10 KEXP and Neumos are presenting Dancing on the Valentine No. 13, which will be a Pixies and Breeders tribute show featuring Black Nite Crash, The Gods Themselves, Golden Gardens and more. Later this Spring, the Breeders will be here live in the flesh to play Showbox SoDo on Friday, April 13. [ SPIN ]
MGMT have shared one last song before they release their new album, Little Dark Age, at the end of the week. Called "Me and Michael" the song is accompanied by a weird and entertaining video directed by Joey Frank and Randy Maitland that follows the duo as they steal the song "Me and Michael" from a Filipino band True Faith. The song becomes a hit in this strange, dystopian world but the band are quickly disgraced once news is spread that the song was stolen. They've previously shared the songs "Little Dark Age," "When You Die," and "Hand It Over." Little Dark Age is out February 9 via Columbia. MGMT will be in Seattle for two nights, Saturday, May 12 and Sunday, May 13, both at Showbox SoDo. [ Under the Radar ]
Former Pavement frontman Stephen Malkmus has returned with his band the Jicks for their first new single in four years. Called "Middle America" the ambling, sunny song arrives on its own, without any information on a forthcoming album. Fortunately, a North American tour has been announced and a Seattle date is included. Catch Stephen Malkmus & the Jicks on Saturday, August 4 at the Neptune Theatre. [ Paste ]
Nashville rockers Bully released their sophomore album Losing last fall via Sub Pop. Today, the four-piece have shared the animated video for "Focused," off the album. Animated by Rozalina Burkova, the sophisticated, sparse video puts animations in front of a black backdrop. Burkova says the video is “loosely based on the theme of coming of age and the ups and downs friendships and relationships." Bully are about to embark on an extensive US tour and will be stopping in Seattle on Wednesday, February 28 to play Neumos. [ Rolling Stone ]

Um, Mr. Malkmus? Correct me if I'm wrong, if you're reading this (and by golly, I sure hope you are!), but you seemed a little uncomfortable the night you performed at the EMP Museum. "Be quick dear, times are uncertain, one month crawling, next year blurring, decades in the drain, and monograms on the brain. Decide what's working and what's moved on to the last phase - the floodgate alien days. I love those alien days." And so, Andrew VanWynGarden opens the third MGMT record wh…
