Swedish artist Sarah Assbring is releasing her first El Perro Del Mar project since 2016's KoKoro in a couple of weeks. The six-track project is titled We Are History and today we got the first taste of it with the song "Mirrors." The floating, delicate song comes accompanied by a music video directed by Connor Hurley which sees the same woman at three different stages of her life. Assbring said of the song: "It's a dialogue with another human being (or oneself), either in present time or in the past - to help better understand oneself and therefore our fellow human beings. It's a song left somewhere on a cold moor about reaching out to yourself for empathy and humanity. Of daring to see yourself and others with love and compassion." '90s Los Angeles grunge icons L7 reunited in 2015 and last year released their first single in 18 years, "Dispatch from Mar-A-Lago." Today they've declared their intentions upon returning with the snarling single "I Came Back to Bitch." Frontwoman Donita Sparks explained: “It’s about greedy fucks throwing the word ‘rock star’ around because someone made a huge profit on somebody else’s back, Do not degrade the word ‘rock star.’ [C]reative people, caregivers, civil servants — those are the people who are contributing to society… Capitalist motherfuckers are just making money off of polluting things and ruining neighborhoods.” The song comes with a grainy, low-budget video directed by Joel Fernando. New Jersey punk trio Screaming Females have followed in Dan Auerbach, Jay Som, and of Montreal's footsteps and contributed a song to Amazon's Valentine's Day-themed twin playlists "Love Me" and "Love Me Not." The Screaming Females song falls in the latter playlist and is a cover of Annie Lennox's "No More I Love You's." The band is releasing their seventh studio album All At Once on February 23 on Don Giovanni Records. "Love Me" and "Love Me Not" are now available on Amazon Music. [ Stereogum ]

Rap supergroup Czarface (made up of underground hip hop duo 7L and Esoteric alongside Wa-Tang Clan member Inspectah Deck) has teamed up with the masked prolific rapper MF DOOM for a new album, Czarface Meets Metal Face, to be released at the end of March. They previously teamed up in 2015 for the track "Ka-Bang!" from Every Hero Needs a Villain. Today we got the first look at the new album with the singe "Nautical Depth." Czarface Meets Metal Face is out March 30 and features appearances from Open Mike Eagle and Jedi Mind Tricks' Vinnie Paz. [ Pitchfork ]
