George Lewis Jr. is releasing his fourth full-length Twin Shadow album titled Caer at the end of the month. Today, he’s shared the third single from the album, “When You’re Wrong.” It follows previous singles, “Little Woman” and the HAIM-featuring “Saturdays.” A press release describes Caer as, "...a powerful lens through which Lewis explores his own personal sense of falling, as well as what he has observed about a world that feels as if it's declining. On a larger scale, Caer feels extraordinarily current, given what's going on culturally and politically right now." Caer is out April 27 via Warner Bros./Reprise. Jimmy Fallon had quite an impressive lineup of guests on last night’s Tonight Show. Making the evening an all-music affair, he brought in Jack White for an interview to chat about his new album Boarding House Reach and their mutual history of being altar boys. Grace Jones also took a seat on the Tonight Show show couch to promote a new documentary about her extraordinary life titled Bloodlight and Bami. She also told an interesting anecdote about Nile Rodgers and how Chic’s “Le Freak” was originally titled “Fuck Off” and was inspired by not getting into Studio 54. As if that wasn’t enough, Tinashe performed “No Drama,” off her new album Joyride, out today, with rapper Offset of Migos. Jack White will be in Seattle on Monday, August 13 to play WaMu Theatre. Brooklyn synthpop duo Wet have revealed a new single today titled “Softens.” It follows last month’s, “There’s a Reason,” the first new music from the band since their 2016 debut album Don’t You. Frontwoman Kelly Zutrau, explains the formation of the song, saying: “Sometime last winter I was having a hard time on a personal level while the world also seemed like it was in a collectively dark place. I was just feeling like shit and listening to the radio one night while all of these horrible news stories were playing and then I heard this phrase ‘Where Beauty Softens Your Grief.’ It turned out to be a slogan for a funeral home in Harlem. And something about those words and the story behind it really stuck with me. I found that idea so comforting, someone making a place to soften the sometimes harsh reality of being a human.” No word on a sophomore album has been announced but the band will embark on a tour this May, with a stop in Seattle on Tuesday, May 29. Bronx rapper Princess Nokia (Destiny Frasqueri) has dropped her new mixtape A Girl Cried Red, that she previously described as her “emo mixtape,” telling Dazed that, “It’s real alternative music.” She also shared a video for the mixtape’s title track, which follows Frasqueri on tour and through a breakup. Princess Nokia broke out in 2016 with her 1992 mixtape and has been making strong moves ever since. A Girl Cried Red takes its title from a Dance Gavin Dance’s “The Robot With Human Hair, Pt 1” off of 2006’s Whatever I Say Is Royal Ocean. A Girl Cried Red is out now via Rough Trade. [ The Fader ]
