The Shins have shared a new short film titled The Worm’s Heart today. It features music from the album of the same name that they released in January, a reworked version of 2017’s studio album Heartworms. In the reworked version, the slow songs become fast and the upbeat songs get turned into ballads. Directed by drummer Jon Sortland, the film follows frontman James Mercer on an adventure trying to solve the mystery of Amelia Earheart’s disappearance. [ SPIN ]

Leon Bridges is following up his smash 2015 debut Coming Home this May with Good Thing. So far, he’s shared two songs from the album: “Bet Ain’t Worth the Hand” and “Bad Bad News.” Bridges recently unveiled the video for “Bad Bad News,” starring model Paloma Elsesser and directed by Natalie Rae. Today, he’s shared the video for “Bet Ain’t Worth the Hand,” also directed by Rae which sees Bridges as a guardian angel of sorts. Rae said this about the video: "'Bet Ain't Worth the Hand' is about the human desire to connect to each other while we live in a world increasing separating us. We watch Leon unable to be grounded as he floats through the lives of people who are disconnected. As he sings we tap into an increasingly common feeling of disconnection from each other and ourselves. Leon's tries to feel connected through bringing comfort to the people he crosses like a guardian angel, until we find out who he is looking for. The video leaves us wondering what may linger in loss and regret if we are not able to be present to the relationships around us." Good Thing is out May 4 via Columbia. Today, the young Barcelona-based quartet Mourn have announced their third studio album Sorpresa Familia and shared the lead single “Barcelona City Tour” via a fun video of the band on tour. Sorpresa Familia is comprised of 12 original songs that, according to the press release, “delve into themes including experiences with toxic figures in the music industry, being abandoned as touring teens in a foreign country, and letting go of the past.” Sorpresa Familia is out June 15 on Captured Tracks and follows 2016’s Ha, Ha, He. Detroit-based musician Anna Burch released her debut album Quit the Curse in February via Polyvinyl. Today, she’s shared a video for the album’s closing track, “With You Every Day,” which focuses on the ups and downs of when a relationship passes the honeymoon stage. The video, directed by Ben Collins, focuses on Burch and her band, playing the song in a white room with wide smiles. "I love performance videos because they break the barriers of a typical concert-going experience," Burch says of the video. "By infiltrating the space of the performers and highlighting the personal dynamics of the group, it draws your attention to the full sound of what the band is playing."
