Janelle Monáe finally dropped long-awaited Dirty Computer today to unanimous rave reviews. The album is accompanied by a 44-minute science fiction short film of the same name, starring herself and actress Tessa Thompson (Thor: Ragnarok and Westworld). She’s calling the film, which made its world debut yesterday on MTV and BET, an “emotion picture” set to the music of Dirty Computer. Monáe’s last studio album was 2013’s The Electric Lady. SZA will be joining Lamar on the TDE Championship Tour, kicking off next month, alongside Schoolboy Q, Jay Rock, Ab Soul, and others. The Championship Tour makes a stop at the White River Amphitheatre on Saturday, May 5. [ The Fader ]
