Nearly a year after releasing their latest album, Everything Now, Arcade Fire have shared a video for album track “Chemistry.” Directed by Ray Tintori, the clip takes place at a wedding, with the heads of all the characters replaced by computer-animated animal heads. Animated by Starburns Industries (Rick & Morty, Anomalisa), the plotline follows a dog-headed man who falls in love with a cat-headed woman who has presumably just been betrothed to a shark-headed man. "We've been big fans of Ray's work since his early videos and there was talk of collaborating during 'The Suburbs' shoot--we were going to film it in New Orleans but then it got moved to Austin at the last minute, and Ray was caught up working on Beasts of the Southern Wild, “ says frontman Win Butler. “So it was very full circle to finally be working with him in New Orleans during Mardi Gras. There is a playful, carnivalesque energy to the song; to capture that by filming literally during carnival felt right." [ Under the Radar ]
