Los Angeles noise rock trio HEALTH have debuted a new song that features vocals from Soccer Mommy (aka Sophie Allison) and production from Purity Ring’s Corin Roddick. Titled “MASS GRAVE,” the dark track sees Allison’s voice merge with HEALTH’s Jake Duzsik for the lyrics “I didn’t mean to hurt you/ If I did, I didn’t know/ If you meant to hurt me/ I would have let it go.”
"It’s one of the first features I’ve ever done and I love the finished product" said Allison about the song. "It has a kind of apathetic sadness to it that I was really drawn to.”
HEALTH shared a rather amusing statement. “The annals of music history are filled with a rich tradition of trios. Crosby, Stills, & Nash…Emerson, Lake, and Palmer…Lennon, McCartney, and that other guy…And now Soccer Mommy, the guy from Purity Ring, and HEALTH.”
