Guided By Voices are gearing up for a busy 2019 (not that any of their previous years have been anything but busy). The long-running lo-fi band are releasing the double album Zeppelin Over China on February 1 and following it up with another album titled Warp And Woof in April. Today, they’ve shared the new single “The Rally Boys” off the former record. The anthemic song is short and sweet, bringing all hook with no filler.
Zeppelin Over China boasts 32 songs over 75 minutes and is described as “a grand album of emotional resonance and narrative drama”, where Pollard introduces the latest GBV line-up of Doug Gillard (guitar), Kevin March (drums), Mark Shue (bass) and Bobby Bare Jr. (guitar). It’s the 26th album in the Guided By Voices deep discography, following last year’s Space Gun.
