Los Angeles darkwavers Cold Cave have returned with a new single titled “Promised Land.” Led by a twinkling piano line and punchy synths, the signature moody song features vocals from frontman Wesley Eisold’s wife Amy Lee (who you should know from the early aughts goth rock band Evanescence). The song follows last year’s EP You & Me & Infinity with mixing by Chris Coady (Beach House, Together Pangea) and mastering by Bob Weston (The Breeders).
As of late, the band has chosen to release one-off singles and EPs rather than albums, with their last full-length, Cherish the Light Years, released in 2011. This week, the band is embarking on a US tour with a date in Olympia (the closest they’re getting to Seattle) on Tuesday, February 19 at the Capitol Theater.
