It’s almost as if Kevin Parker timed the release of his second Tame Impala single, “Borderline,” to drop on a gorgeous, sunny Seattle day like this one. Tame Impala’s music was made for the sun and the new single is no different. While Parker might have toned down the psychedelia for the latest Tame Impala singles, the bright grooviness still holds true.
“Borderline” made its initial debut a couple weeks ago when Tame Impala played SNL and today its official studio recording is out. The song follows last month’s “Patience,” the first Tame Impala single since 2015’s Currents. A new record is likely on its way but no official announcement has been made. The band are scheduled to make the festival circuit this summer, with a headlining slot at Coachella.
