This morning, via social media, drummer Janet Weiss announced her decision to leave Sleater-Kinney, surprising news as the band are on the verge of releasing their first new album since 2014. Titled The Center Won’t Hold, the forthcoming full-length does feature Weiss, recorded with producer St. Vincent. She also recently appeared with the band on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon performing the track "Hurry On Home."

The Center Won’t Hold is scheduled for release August 16, 2019 via Mom + Pop Music. The band play November 23rd and 24th at the Paramount Theatre.
